STR Helper Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 5, 2026

STR Helper is a Chrome extension that checks dtSearch search terms for syntax errors and breaks them into simpler terms. This policy explains what happens to the information you use with it.

Information we collect

None. STR Helper does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information or any content you type into it. It has no analytics, tracking, advertising or accounts, and it does not read the web pages you visit.

Information stored on your computer

To reopen where you left off, STR Helper saves the following in your browser's local extension storage on your own computer:

  • the search terms you typed and the last validation or simplified results

  • your simplified terms list

  • your preferences: light or dark theme and your noise word list

This data never leaves your computer. You can delete it at any time by clearing the boxes in the extension or by removing the extension from Chrome.

Files you download

When you click Download .txt, the file is created in your browser and saved to your computer. It is not uploaded anywhere.

Links

The extension includes an optional link to the developer's Venmo profile for tips. Clicking it opens Venmo's website, which has its own privacy policy. Nothing from the extension is sent to Venmo.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
